Macaroni and Cheese

Here’s a great macaroni and cheese recipe from Martha Stewart. I made a few changes—added shallots which were cooked in the butter before the flour was added to make the roux, swapped orecchiette for elbow macaroni and eliminated the bread crumbs on top—in an attempt to improve on the original recipe. It worked.
